How fit should I be:

Although it’s just a day hike, the combination of a fast pace and high elevation can make it quite exhausting. Therefore, it’s important not to underestimate this hike, as it can be quite challenging.

What to wear during your one day hike
when it comes to what to wear on the Kilimanjaro day hike, the most important item is a pair of good, closed shoes. While it’s possible to attempt the hike in high heels, it’s not recommended as it can be quite challenging. Additionally, due to the high altitude, it’s strongly advised to bring an extra set of warm clothing.

In the lower rainforests, there is a possibility of getting wet, so it’s best to come prepared with waterproof clothing or a drybag containing extra socks and a shirt

Options for one day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro:

One day hike Kilimanjaro, Marangu forest hike

We will pick you up around 8.00 am from your hotel in Moshi and transfer you to Marangu gate. After your registration done we will begin the hike. A one-day trip leads you up to Mandara Hut and back to the entry gate. On this hike day you will reach the first camp of Kilimanjaro. If you are thinking to take the route of Marangu, you will definitely enjoy the tropical wilderness of the rain forest. Later you will proceed to the descend through the forest trail back to the park gate from there we transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi.

We will pick you up around 8.00 am from your hotel in Moshi and transfer you to

Londrossi (west Kilimanjaro). After registration done at Londrossi gate we begin

The hike. On this one day hike you will hike through the moorland and into the

Alpine desert. You will hike around 2-4 hours to the Shira Plateau. Later after your

Picnic lunch you will proceed to the descend from the same trail back back to the

Park gate. From there we transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi.

• Driving distance: 3 hours to gate / 3 hours back to Moshi
• Approx trekking time: 2-4+ hours

• Start Altitude: 3405m or 11170ft
• End Altitude: 3405m or 11170ft
• Highest Altitude reached: 3505m or 11500ft and above

One day hike Kilimanjaro Machame route

We will pick you up around 8.00 am from your hotel in Moshi and transfer you to Machame gate. After registration done we begin the hike. One this one day hike you will go through the rainforest for estimated 4-5 hours, untill Machame (picnic lunch along the route). Later you will proceed to the descend back through the forest trail and get to the gate. From there we transfer you back to your hotel.

• Approx trekking time: 7-9 hours
• Approx trekking distance: 18km / 11mi
• Start Altitude: 1790m or 5870ft
• End Altitude: 1790m or 5870ft
• Highest Altitude reached: 3010m or 9875ft
• Meals included: Picnic lunch

For individuals with limited fitness or mobility, there is an option to drive directly to the Shira Plateau, where you can explore the surrounding areas at a gentler pace. However, for the longer hike, it is advisable to have a reasonable level of fitness.

What to wear: it is recommended to wear closed shoes due to the occasionally uneven terrain. Additionally, as you ascend to higher altitudes, it is essential to dress warmly and consider waterproof clothing to adapt to changing weather conditions.
